It marked the debut year for our boys in baseball. I pondered whether Gustaf would embrace it as fervently as Gunther. Surprisingly, he did, and both developed a deep affection for the sport. They eagerly anticipated each practice and game, steadily improving their skills and looking sharp in their uniforms.
Gustaf astounded us with his exceptional speed; during one practice, he effortlessly completed a lap around the entire baseball field, leaving his peers trailing behind. Witnessing his growth filled me with pride and awe. Meanwhile, Gunther showcased remarkable hitting prowess for his tender age of three and a half, displaying a level of skill that amazed me. It was heartwarming to see their bond strengthen as they shared this sport together. Gustaf primarily played as the first baseman, occasionally taking on the role of a middle player, adapting admirably despite being new to the sport at five years old. Unfortunately, our season was cut short due to the onset of COVID-19 in March. It was a somber time, yet we remained thankful for the few games and practices we were able to enjoy.
Despite the setback, both boys maintain their enthusiasm for baseball, eagerly awaiting the day when they can resume playing without restrictions.
